Chapter 274 Brendan lowered his gaze at her and asked, "Yeah?" After a moment of hesitation, Naomi offered a reassuring smile, saying, "It will all work out someday." Brendan acknowledged her words and leaned in to plant a kiss on her face. When he attempted to kiss her on the lips next, Naomi pushed him away.

"You reek of alcohol. Go and take a bath. I will make you stea.” "Damn it! I can't even kiss my wife." Brendan squeezed Naomi's cheeks before heading to the bathroom with the clothes she handed him.

Naomi heaved a sigh of relief when she saw Brendan entering the bathroom.

By the tBrendan emerged from the bathroom, Naomi had already prepared a cup of tea and a plate of fruits.

Impressed by her rare display of wifely care, Brendan hugged Naomi tightly. Yet, when he tried to kiss her, Naomi stopped him once again. "You should eat something first," she suggested.

Brendan looked at Naomi skeptically when she held up the fruit platter to feed him. " I'm not sure you will have the stamina for later if your stomach is empty." Brendan was speechless at her comment. Who usually ended up begging for mercy? His low spirits that evening had left him with little appetite earlier. Hence, he agreed to eat whatever food Naomi was offering now. His dejected mood had also caused him to drink the two glasses of wine earlier.

After consuming the fruits fed by Naomi, Brendan kissed her on the lips. The kiss was more urgent but less intense than usual; he seemed preoccupied.

Naomi wrapped her arms around his neck and asked softly, "Are you still feeling disappointed? Should I head out and get a baby for you now?" Brendan chucked in exasperation. "How can a baby from the streets be the sas a baby born to you?" Next, he pinned Naomi to the bed.

Naomi placed her hands on Brendan's shoulders and teased "Easy therebI think it's your fault that my stomach isn't feeling well." Brendan chuckled again. "You can't blme for everything." Naomi giggled. "Brendan, you are more mischievous than I am now."

With their fingers intertwined, Brendan leaned in and kissed her lips passionately. He decided to put in extra effort this tsince Naomi hadn't conceived.

By the tthey were done, Naomi lay on the bed, feeling utterly m exhausted Brendan reached out and pulled her into his arms. Naomi wrapped her arms around his neck, her eyes half-closed. "We will have a child someday. You should treatwell." Brendan gently rubbed her back and softly murmured However, it was unclear which of Naomi's statements he was acknowledging.
