Rose answered firmly, “Yes! I have thought through this. No matter how uncle opposes or suppresses him, I will

always be by his side.”

Pat sat aside and gazed at his daughter who was giving him a headache.

Eugene said, “Rose.” He felt that Rose was too irrational.

Rose continued, “Uncle Charlie has someone he likes, so he protects her at every turn. I have

someone I like as well! I’m not cold-hearted! You may not like Jimmy, but I love him and I will be with him. I’ve

thought about it. He’s not welcome in this family, then I will go back to the

Watsons with him after this.”

Charlie looked at Pat, “What do you think, brother?”

Jimmy was a reliable man. They want Rose to get out of this quagmire sooner

rather than later.

Pat glanced at Rose and committed himself, “If you have decided, then it’s up to you.

However…you need to understand one thing. There’s no way I’m letting Jimmy back to the company. Also, I don’t

think we’ll have him around the Calsises’ house again! If you follow him,

are not able to take care of you.”

Some people just don’t turn back until they reach the dead end. She would not believe and learn. until she tried by

Rose insisted unswervingly, “I understand.” This time the conflict being so severe and Charlie being so angry, it was

Rose walked upstairs, casually packed up some stuff, and then came out.

When she stepped out, she saw Theresa standing at the door, as if waiting for her. She initiated

the conversation. “Aunt Theresa.”

Theresa cast her a look. “You are really going back to the Watsons with Jimmy?”

Rose queried her, “What does aunt mean by saying this after all this time? You are not planning. to sow discord

between Jim and me again, are you?”

Theresa realized that before she even spoke, her intention had already been defined as sowing discord. What she

originally wanted to say could not be articulated in the face of Rose now. Speaking of which, Rose was more like an

enemy to her. Whether she was doing well or not had not much to do with her.

Just then, the servant helped Jimmy out of the room. He had already been neatly dressed, and when he saw

Theresa, his eyes darkened. “What are you doing here?”

Now, will he still like you? Don tell me you are naive enough to believe that a woman like you can be the wife of

Charlie Calsis? You’ll suffer the consequences sooner or later.”

Jimmy’s warning made Theresa’s expression freeze. How could she not understand what Jimmy said? She had

thought about it over and over long before today. Once Charlie stood up, they would no longer be the same as

before.
