Chapter 523

Charlie probably had just woken up, so he sounded pretty clingy.

Theresa was baffled and felt her eyes watery.

She was actually not quite sure herself. Was this what a couple about to get divorced should look like? Theresa

looked down at his hands around her waist. Charlie had very nice hands with well-defined slender fingers and

perfectly trimmed nails, which were her favorite type.

She lowered her head. Since she had promised him yesterday, she had no choice and said, “I’m going to wash up

now.”

She got out of his arms, stood up, and went into the bathroom.

Charlie watched her back and sighed helplessly.

He was quite sad, thinking that he had only a short time left with her.

The two of them finished washing up and went downstairs for breakfast. The two kids were still sleeping, so it was

exceptionally quiet at the breakfast table.

Theresa was eating when Charlie handed her an egg, which was partly shelled so that she could hold it easily.

Theresa couldn’t refuse his kindness and took it. “Thank you. ”

Charlie gave her a look and said, “I used to think it wasn’t a good idea to have breakfast with others. I thought it

was a waste of time. But for some reason, I feel happy when I have it with you.”

Charlie’s words left Theresa staring at him dumbfounded. She had wanted to take the egg yolk out and put it down,

but when she heard his words, she was so shocked that she swallowed the whole egg yolk and choked. Charlie sat

beside her, patted her on the back, and handed her water. “Be careful.”

Theresa coughed for a while and finally got better. Despite her embarrassment, she turned to Charlie and said,

“That’s enough. Stop talking.” 11

She wondered what he was up to.

Was he trying to pursue a girl, so now he was practicing in advance?

Or did he think that he was free to flirt with her because they were getting divorced anyway?

He was not like this before!

He used to be sharp-tongued as hell.

She didn’t know what to do when he was like this now.

Charlie had to shut up when she wouldn’t let him talk.

Well…

It was wrong for him to say anything when he wasn’t liked.

After breakfast, the two of them got ready to leave. Charlie’s car was already waiting outside. With her stuff,

Theresa was about to get into the car when Charlie came over with her jacket. “It’s getting colder today and it

might snow. You need to wear more.”

She looked up at the man beside her, and before she could see his expression, he had already gotten into the car.

Theresa followed him in and remembered that she had driven herself for the past couple of days without taking his

car.

In the car, the two of them were very quiet. Theresa looked out the window at the city shrouded in fog, feeling she

was still a little sleepy.

A hand reached over and took hold of her fingers.

She turned around and looked at the man. Charlie didn’t look at her, like it was something perfectly normal in his

eyes.

He just looked ahead and said, “You promised me.”

She had promised him that they could get along as before and holding hands was something they had often done

before.

Theresa was at a loss for words at the moment.

She didn’t know what to say.

He held her hand all the way. Finally, the car stopped.

The driver pulled up outside the building of the White’s Group. Charlie looked out and said, “Your patient is over

here?”

Charlie rarely came around here.

Theresa said, “Well, he is behind there. It’s not easy to park there, so I’ll walk over.”
