Chapter 975 Nicole Craves Sour Food

Back when Nicole was having Hayden, her pregnancy wasn't as terrible as her current one. She remembered that

she slept a little longer than usual and craved sour food at that time.

However, her second baby was a lively one for sure. The baby is giving me a hard time!

Looking down at her flat belly, Nicole couldn't help but knit her brows.

She stayed on the couch for another couple of moments until the ringing doorbell snapped her out of her thoughts.

Nicole cast a glance at the weather outside and quietly remarked, It's still raining. It has lasted for nearly two hours,

but it doesn't seem like it's stopping anytime soon. Who could be visiting at this hour in such harsh weather?

Questions ran through Nicole's mind. At that moment, the echoing footsteps upstairs caught her attention. Colton

came downstairs with a white towel covering his hair.

He headed straight to the door, opened it, and talked to the person outside.

Nicole could easily spot the person outside the door from where she sat. It was a man wearing a suit. If memory

The people who resided here were either wealthy or influential. Afraid of offending the residents, the property

managers always humbly approached them.

Once the conversation ended, Colton came back inside with a black plastic bag in his hand. He brought it to the

kitchen and took out jar after jar of unknown substances.

After setting everything in place, he turned in Nicole's direction and said, "The chowder is just about ready. Do you

want to eat something before having the chowder? Or do you have something else in mind? You can tell me and I'll

get it for you."

They locked eyes with each other. Nicole could feel the heat creeping up her neck by looking into his eyes.

She immediately withdrew her gaze and stammered, "N-Nothing!"

She put on a straight face and stared straight ahead. Even so, she was aware that it was silly to disguise her

attempt. I've done nothing wrong! Why am I feeling nervous over nothing?

Colton chuckled deeply at the sight of Nicole's blushing face. He took out a packet from the groceries on the table

and walked over to her.

She was curled up on the couch when he approached. Tearing open the packet, he held it out to her.

Nicole sniffed it. A sour smell immediately filled her nostrils.

The smell stimulated her taste buds and it further aroused her appetite as her mouth began to water just getting a

whiff of it.

Her eyes widened in surprise when her gaze fell on the packet Colton held. It's sour straws candy!

"Why have you bought these?" Stretching out a hand to take the packet from Colton, Nicole shot him a question.

She took one and chewed it. A sour taste exploded in her mouth, replacing the bitterness that dominated her taste

buds earlier.

However, the sourness was perfect for Nicole. She squeezed her eyes shut in contentment, enjoying the sourness

spreading all over her tongue.

"I called Richard a moment ago. He suggested that I buy them," Colton replied honestly.

Nicole had been suffering from poor appetite and discomfort over the last few days. Every time Colton laid eyes on

her, he saw a pale woman. Thus, he called Richard and sought an answer.

Richard explained that the symptoms Nicole was experiencing at the moment were normal among pregnant

women. He added that Colton could get her some sour food if she lacked appetite.

Thus, when Colton changed his shirt upstairs, he also called the property manager and asked the man to bring him

some snacks and a pack of sour straws candy.

The mention of Richard reminded Nicole of Julia. Nicole had yet to meet them since Julia went abroad and Richard

went after her.

She remembered Julia crying on the phone during their latest call due to worrying about Richard's injury.

Nicole hadn't talked to Julia since then.

Her expression softened at the thought of Julia and she whispered, "How are they doing?"

"They're doing just fine," Colton calmly explained. "Miss Hull is pregnant, and Richard is staying by her side to take

care of her. His family has called off the engagement with the Zuniga Family."

After all, the Zuniga Family made the first move of hurting Richard. Thus, they were indeed in the wrong. Besides,

Christi was an understanding woman and could see reason in the situation. After learning that her family forced the

engagement between Richard and her, she broke it off without hesitation
