Chapter 1281 Sickly Appearance

When Chloe heard Nicole agreeing, she immediately looked at Roxanna happily, and the two smiled at each other.

As long as Nicole was willing to eat, they could gradually nurse her back to health.

"Nicole, where's your report? Let us have a look to ease our worries." Roxanna stood beside Nicole and

accompanied her to sit at the dining table. When she did not see Nicole's health report anywhere, she guessed, "Is

it inside your bag? Can I go and get it?"

While looking at the dishes before her, Nicole nodded. She did not hear anything Roxanna said, but there was

nothing she wanted to hide from them either.

After getting Nicole's consent, Roxanna searched for Nicole's report because they really wanted to know about her

condition. Soon, she found the report inside Nicole's bag as only two things were inside—the report and a phone.

Roxanna's movements paused as she quickly grabbed the report but discovered it was scrunched up and even

slightly ripped.

Noticing Roxanna's reaction, Chloe glanced deeply at Nicole before approaching Roxanna but then took a sharp

breath.

"How did this happen?" Roxanna softly asked Chloe. They both knew how much Nicole cared about her child and

that she would take good care of any reports regarding the child. Yet, not only was this report all crumbled up, but

there were also several holes in it, which was very unlike how Nicole would treat it.

Chloe shook her head slightly, indicating that they would have a private conversation after dinner. Understanding

what Chloe meant, Roxanna neatly folded the report and placed it inside her pocket. Then, she pulled Chloe and

hopped back to the dining table.

It was not a satisfying dinner as the two kept serving food on Nicole's plate while Nicole ate her food like an

emotionless robot, unaware of whether the food was delicious or not and if she was full.

The other two had to keep asking her questions to find out what they wanted to know.

When dinner was finally over, Roxanna sent Nicole back to her room before secretly entering Chloe's room. The

two had important business to discuss.

"When will Mr. Lloyd be returning?" Roxanna suddenly asked after looking at the report before her and falling into a

deep thought.

Unsure why Roxanna would ask such a question, Chloe was startled but replied, "Tomorrow. Why are you asking?"

Chloe thought Roxanna might have thought of a solution and asked, "Have you thought of a plan?"

Roxanna nodded sternly. "Once Mr. Lloyd returns, get him to introduce a psychiatrist to Nicole. This can't go on."

She's right. If Nicole continues behaving this way, she'll be depressed. Depression tortures not only one's soul, but

also one's body. Realizing the importance of having good mental health, Chloe concurred with a nod. "Sounds like a

plan."

Once the two came to a decision, they put away the report. They would wait for Albert to return so that they could

come up with a plan of action together.

Meanwhile, Nicole stayed in her room alone, and her mind kept replaying the scene of her encounter with Colton

today.

"Nicole. You must be Nicole, right?"

His voice is still the same. Nicole barely managed to smile. It's just a little raspy. I wonder if he has been eating his

meals regularly. That woman probably takes good care of him.

When she thought about that, she smiled mockingly. It was not her place to worry about Colton anymore because

she was no longer his wife.

Tears unconsciously fell from the corner of her eye, and her face was wet with tears within three seconds. She kept

asking herself why she was still alive because it was too painful to watch the man she loved so deeply be intimate

with another woman.

Nicole couldn't care less about her tear-stained face because she felt like a river with a never-ending flow of tears.

"Colton, why won't you listen to my explanation? Even one sentence would do…" While staring absent-mindedly out

the window, she kept muttering as though Colton could hear her from wherever he was.
