daunting aura, and Evelyn immediately stopped wailing.

She raised her head, revealing her pitiful face. She knew that any further defenses would be futile. She clenched

her fists, and after a moment of contemplation, she quickly claimed, "I-I didn't want things to go this way as well.

However, I just love Collie too much!"

She crawled toward Colton as she spoke and grabbed the hem of his pants. Evelyn choked with tears, saying,

"Collie, I love you so much that I made such a grave mistake on a whim. Please don't blame me, alright? You know,

I've loved you ever since we were children. Do you not remember how I saved your life, Collie?" She decided to play

the pity card to draw Colton's sympathy. Alas, the man feigned not the slightest bit of pity.

He stared at the miserable woman at his feet without a trace of emotion in his deep eyes; there was even a hint of

chilliness within. He withdrew his feet silently and took a step backward before saying coldly, "Not only did you

attempt to drug me, but you even threatened to kill yourself to coerce me into marrying you. Is that what you do

out of love?"

His icy words left Evelyn's body freezing. She sat on the ground and cried helplessly, yet she didn't know how to

defend herself.

On the other hand, Jackson was infuriated. After all, back when the incident first started, he firmly stood by Evelyn's

side, only to have such a result ferociously smack him in the face.

The atmosphere between the two families was rather stiff, but eventually, Hayden's interruption shattered the

intensity. "Grandpa, Grandma, why are you here? Dad's here as well!" While swinging his little legs, he waddled

toward the crowd and threw himself into Anna's arms.

Seeing him, Anna visibly grew comforted as a subtle smile appeared on her face. She then caressed the boy's head

and asked, "Hayden, why are you here?"

"That's because Mom is here. Grandma and Grandpa are here too," replied Hayden earnestly. His eyes were large

and distinct.

Meanwhile, Nicole had been following behind Hayden. Seeing that he was in Anna's embrace, she extended her

arm and pulled him over. She sounded somewhat unfriendly. "Hayden, get over here."

"Okay." He obediently withdrew himself and walked toward Siobhan while softly blurting, "Grandma."

His icy words left Evelyn's body freezing. She sat on the ground and cried helplessly, yet she didn't know how to

defend herself.

Suspicion flashed across Anna's eyes when she saw how Hayden referred to Siobhan as his grandmother.

Recalling the relationship between Nicole and Colton, Siobhan explained, "This is my daughter, Nicole, so it is only

natural that Nicole's son is my grandson."

Seeing how Benjamin and Anna were still baffled, Colton stepped in and clarified, "Gabriel told me that Nicole is

Madam Gould's biological daughter and not that of William Anderson. This only happened because Madeline

Houston secretly switched the babies back then."

Anna turned to Nicole, unable to hide the happiness on her face.

Siobhan noticed Colton's unwavering gaze at Nicole and suggested, "Now that the engagement between the

Gardners and Wrenns has drawn so much attention, should the marriage be canceled, the two families would only

become a laughingstock. However, Nicole is my biological daughter. Since she and Colton already have a son,

coupled with the fact that they're building their relationship, why don't…"

Siobhan refrained from finishing her sentence, but her insinuation was as clear as day.
