Benjamin sensed the tension and went straight to the point. "In that case, the marriage shall be canceled. We will

disclose the truth to the public, or it would be harsh on my son if he were to be labeled as someone heartless."

As she spoke, she turned to Nicole and continued, "Besides, I am quite fond of Nicole. All of this only started

because of Dad. Now that the misunderstandings have been resolved, I suppose it wouldn't be a problem."

Jackson furrowed his brows and waved his hand. "I reckon the matter could be negotiated." If such a matter were

to get out, it would be a fatal blow to both the Wrenns and the Goulds.

"Let me discuss it with Nicole." Colton, who had been standing silently at the side, spoke up. The muscular man

walked toward Nicole, and before she could say anything, he suddenly grabbed her wrist and pulled her away.

"Let's talk outside," Colton said in a low and domineering voice.

Before Nicole could react, the man had already dragged her outside. "What are you doing?" She strenuously shook

her arm, but the man's strength was too great for her to resist.

When they were finally outside, Colton let go of her. He stared at Nicole's face before slowly asking, "Do you not

want to be with me?"

Weirded out by the question, Nicole furrowed her brows. "President Gardner, I assume you're under some sort of

misconception—"

Before she could finish, Colton immediately interrupted her and said, "Misconception? What misconception are you

talking about? You didn't want to be with me solely because of William, but now that you're no longer his daughter,

what else is there to worry about?"
