Chapter 932 Snitch

Nicole brought Hayden back to the Gould Residence.

She hadn't returned to the place since that passionate night she spent with Colton, but she did contact Siobhan on

phone and told her that she needed some time to deal with a work emergency.

Siobhan didn't say anything much other than thoughtfully telling Nicole to ask for help if it was something she

couldn't handle.

Nicole only absent-mindedly answered her then.

When she returned to Gould Residence, Siobhan kept looking at Nicole with a puzzling expression on her face.

Nicole was confused seeing the smile that hung on Siobhan's lips the whole time. Did I do something that made

Madam Gould misunderstand me?

It was only during mealtime when Siobhan mentioned, "Nicole, we aren't against your relationship with Colton if the

feeling is mutual. You can say that I watched Colton grow up. I'm sure he won't disappoint the person he chooses."

Nicole didn't say anything to that. For some reason, she thought something felt off. Those words sounded as if she

and Colton were having an affair of some sort.

She quickly lowered her head and suspiciously peered at her son.

As usual, Hayden had an innocent look on, and he naively complained, "Grandma, both Mom and Dad don't want

me anymore! They spent more than ten days together without me. I bet they were up to no good behind my back!"

The innocent words children uttered always sounded extremely genuine.

Nicole finally understood the reason for Siobhan's behavior. It turned out that her brat of a son had been telling on

her to Siobhan.

"I told you that it's because I was busy with work, Hayden. Enough with that nonsense!" Nicole hissed through her

slightly gritted teeth. Both the father and the son are two beans in a pod!

Naturally, Hayden didn't believe his mother. He even cast a suspicious look at his mother as he huffed, "You were

with Dad, Mom! Dad told me!"

"Hush!" Nicole whispered and lightly tapped Hayden on the head. Why is that jerk telling everyone everything?!

Hayden was rather obedient. He only pouted without saying more.

Nicole brought Hayden out for a walk after the meal. However, they hadn't walked far before a tall figure suddenly

appeared in front of them.

Nicole protected Hayden in her embrace out of habit. She frowned when she lifted her gaze to see who it was.

Evelyn?

Doubtful and wary of her arrival, Nicole demanded in a low voice, "What are you trying to do, Evelyn?"

Surprisingly, Evelyn looked indifferent compared to her usual crazed self. Her gaze was fixed on Nicole and Hayden.

She only spoke up after a while. "Did you spend the past two weeks or so with Colton?"

Nicole stretched out her arms and pulled Hayden closer to her. She then replied with the corners of her mouth

curled, "I don't think who I was with has anything to do with you, Miss Evelyn."

There was finally a crack in Evelyn's unusually calm mask. Forcing herself to stay calm, she slowly exhaled with her

lips pursed.

She soon continued, "There is nothing for me to resent anymore at this point. I heard from Mom that you and

Colton are in a fake engagement. Since that is the plan, you'd better not go back on your words, Nicole!"

Nicole finally understood the reason for Evelyn's calmness then. It turned out that she had heard about her and

Colton's engagement for appearance's sake from Siobhan.

Nicole chuckled in return. Her eyes had an amused glint when she lifted her head and glanced at Evelyn.

"Miss Evelyn," she softly mentioned, "my business is none of your concern!"

She immediately turned around and left after saying that.

Evelyn put on a twisted expression only after Nicole left. During the past few days she was at home, Gabriel had

constantly advised her to not have any ideas on Colton.

However, there was no way she could give up on the man she had set her heart on for the longest time.

She only managed to suppress the anger boiling inside of her learning that Nicole and Colton were only putting on a

show.
