Chapter 936 Are You Rejecting Me?

Nicole returned to her seat after she was done taking care of Betty. There were traces of concern on her face.

Seeing her worry, Zachary comforted her, "She will be alright. It must be the turbulence on the plane. She will feel

better after we reach our destination."

Nicole nodded upon hearing that. Betty was the only elderly she was close with now.

Even though Betty knew about Madeline taking Nicole away, Betty had always been nice to her since she was a

child. Because of that, Nicole was determined to repay the older woman's kindness.

The plane only landed after about six hours. Betty, who was asleep the whole time, was in a daze after she woke

up.

She sat up and coughed when she felt the lingering discomfort in her throat.

Nicole quickly put her arms around Betty and asked in a worried voice, "Are you alright?"

Betty smiled and reassured her, "I'm fine. It's just an itch in my throat. Don't worry, Nicole."

Humming, she murmured, "We have reached our destination, Ms. Betty. We can get off the plane now. The doctors

are waiting outside."

Betty's aged eyes narrowed as she let out a soft sigh when she heard how well Nicole had taken care of everything.

"Nicole, I'm an old lady now, but you're taking care of me so—"

Nicole tugged on Betty's arm, not letting her finish her sentence.

"Alright now, Ms. Betty. Let's get off the plane."

Zachary stood on the other side and reached out to support Betty.

When they got out, they saw the medical team which had been waiting for them for a long time outside.

Nicole and Zachary then followed the medical team into the car.

This was a private medical team that provided services exclusively for the rich. They bought out a huge open space

in a suburban area and built a series of professional facilities.

The doctors checked Betty's condition and made a list of all her problems as soon as they arrived at the hospital.

Since Nicole had studied medicine, she had an idea of what was wrong with Betty after she took a look at the list.

According to the doctor, it would take a longer time to heal Betty because of the damage to her body due to severe

poisoning on top of her having a frail body, to begin with. They would need to slowly condition her back to good

health.

Nicole wasn't that worried because she knew that there were professional nutritionists who had earned

international fame working here.

"Okay. I will leave Ms. Betty to you. However, I hope the nurse is someone from our country. Ms. Betty is old now,

and she doesn't speak foreign languages. The money won't be a problem," Nicole stated with a nod.

She only left with Zachary after settling Betty down.

It had been some time since she was abroad. Her last stay overseas was a rather hectic one because of Norman.

When Zachary noticed how Nicole was more relaxed, he smilingly patted her on the head.

Nicole looked up when she felt the touch on the crown of her head. Instead of telling him off, she complained, "It

seems like you always treat me like a child. You keep touching my head."

The man only smiled. After a moment, he murmured in a soft voice, "That is because you will reject me if I want to

do something more intimate."

Nicole jolted to a stop upon hearing that. She sighed after a long second. "You don't have to put all your focus on

me, Zach. You can try accepting some other woman."

It suddenly got quiet after she said that.

Zachary only slowly asked after a while, "Nicole, are you rejecting me?"

Nicole was slightly at a loss for words. Not knowing what to say, she hesitated for a bit before solemnly admitting,

"Zach, I know you like me, but I can't lie to you."

It was Zachary's turn to freeze now. His expression, too, turned rigid. After a few long beats, he jokingly switched

the topic in a hoarse voice. "It's late now, Nicole. I got us a hotel nearby. We should rest."
