Chapter 937 Jealous

Right after Zachary said that, he didn't wait for Nicole to answer as he turned around and left.

There was a strange glint in Nicole's eyes when she watched his tall and straight figure. After a while, she began to

follow him.

Things were as clear as day between the two of them. However, they both feigned ignorance to not lay bare the

truth.

Nicole thought that she was selfish for stringing Zachary along despite not having romantic feelings for him.

The guilt she kept to herself after she and Colton slept together was slowly killing her.

Whenever she had to face Zachary, she felt like a villain who was trying to take advantage of other people's

feelings.

On the other hand, Zachary didn't say anything throughout their way to the hotel. They both went to their

respective rooms by the end of the silent journey.

Nicole then went to take a shower. When she came out, she suddenly noticed that her phone by the bedside table

had more than a dozen missed calls.

She counted to see how many there were, only to find that she had missed 13 calls. Who would do something so

irrational?

The 13 calls were from two different numbers.

She didn't even need to look to know that these calls were from Colton.

Just when she was thinking about whether to block the numbers or ignore the missed calls, an incoming call popped

up on the phone screen. Subconsciously, Nicole pressed the green button.

She only started to regret taking the call after she pressed the button. Ah, you stupid finger! she cursed.

She could feel a headache coming when she looked at the call that had gotten through.

"Nicole!" A glum voice immediately rang out from the other end of the line.

Nicole didn't say anything. She could tell that the man was pissed.

"How could you travel abroad with Zachary?!" He definitely didn't sound happy at all.

Nicole chuckled and asked in return, "What does my going overseas with Zachary have anything to do with you,

President Gardner?"

"Don't you know that he has ulterior motives toward you?" he asked in a somber voice.

Colton's work had piled up after he stayed at home with Nicole for more than ten days.

After he was done with work, he was unexpectedly hit with the news that Nicole and Zachary had gone overseas on

a private plane.

"President Gardner, you are the one who has ulterior motives toward me," Nicole muttered with a roll of her eyes.

It was true that Zachary was interested in her, but he had never done anything too intimate with her.

"Only a man understands another man best." Colton's deep voice was thick with concern. "Nicky, Zachary is deeply

in love with you. There will come a day when he can no longer suppress his emotions."

Nicole half-leaned against the head of the bed and let her eyelids drop before she drawled, "President Gardner,

there is nothing between you and me, and it is none of your business who I am with. Let's treat that night as an

accident."

"No can do," he rejected without any hesitance. His eyes then narrowed and he warned, "Nicole, you have to take

responsibility for sleeping with me."

Baffled and not wanting to spend more energy talking to him, she eventually hung up and put her phone on silent

before she sprawled on her bed.

The truth was, she felt conflicted. She had felt herself falling for Colton before, but whatever feelings she had

budding for him had wilted because of Ella.

Even though there was no feeling of animosity between her and Colton now, she just didn't feel that kind of love

that made her heart flutter for him anymore.

She promptly pressed her head under a pillow. Even she didn't know what she wanted.

She might feel somewhat embarrassed after rolling in the sheets with Colton on the night they got engaged, but

she didn't regret or feel upset about what happened.

In fact, it didn't feel wrong for that to happen.

Nicole let out a long breath with her eyes closed. There was a hint of disorientation in those clear orbs of hers.
