Chapter 939 Together

Colton didn't care at all despite Nicole's cutthroat words. He was practically stuck to her when he drawled, "I asked

the front desk when I came up earlier. They said there are no extra rooms available."

Obviously, Nicole didn't believe him. This wasn't some famous tourist spot and the location wasn't the best. There

were still a whole lot of rooms that were empty when she and Zachary came.

It couldn't have gotten a full house in the middle of the night.

She pursed her lips as she muttered, "Sleep on the streets, then."

Colton suddenly hugged her and pitifully whined, "I didn't sleep because I was rushing here overnight. I didn't even

have something warm to eat… Nicky, what if I tire myself out and suddenly die?"

She reached out and pushed at the man pinning her down, but he was hugging her so tightly he didn't budge at all.

Her expression turned to one of resignation as she stated, "President Gardner, it would be better if we remain only

as friends."

"Friends who sleep together?" His warm breath thick with desire washed over the shell of her ear.

Oh, shameless pig! she fumed internally. Out loud, she yelled, "You'd better get out of my face!"

Colton didn't mind at all and he only continued to utter lazily, "I don't mind being friends. But your friend is

exhausted now. I'm going to sleep."

As soon as he said that, he didn't bother taking off his suit before he crashed into her bed with her still in his arms.

He then wiggled under the sheets.

Slightly breathless from his tight hold on her, Nicole reached out to push him away. "Colton Gardner, let go of me!"

she hissed through gritted teeth.

"Let's just sleep. Be good, Nicky. Hush. I'm sleepy," Colton muttered with his eyes closed.

What followed right after he said those words were steady breaths.

Colton had turned off the lights in the room when he dragged Nicole along to the bed, which was why the room was

pitch black now.

With her eyes wide open, she could vaguely see the outline of his face in the dark.

As they breathed, they could smell each other's scent from the proximity they were in.

Nicole's head was a mess when she lay in Colton's arms.

She couldn't help but think of how he rushed over right after he found out that she had gone abroad with Zachary.

In fact, she thought that Colton's possessiveness over her had gotten to an unhealthy level.

Her gaze continued to become more conflicted when she looked at him in the dark.

She thought that she wouldn't be able to sleep. Unexpectedly, she fell into a deep sleep at some point.

Another knock sounded on the door when Nicole was out cold. Squinting, she was about to get out of bed when she

heard a low, husky voice beside her. "Rest. I'll get the door."

Her eyelids were heavy at first, but hearing the sound immediately woke her up. She was hit with another shock

when Colton's handsome yet zoomed-in face was the first thing she saw when her eyes shot open.

Her brain still felt foggy from the sleep, and it took her a while to come to her senses after she was startled out of

her sleep. It was only then that she recalled how Colton had come to her this morning and shared a bed with her.

Even though they were both clothed and nothing happened between them, she couldn't help feeling embarrassed.

She realized that there was someone outside when another knock came on the door.

She knew that it was Zachary, but how was she supposed to get the door in this situation?

Her head throbbed when she took a look at the man on her bed.

Three more knocks rang out before it went quiet. Just when Nicole thought that Zachary had left, her phone by the

bedside began to ring.

She only accepted the call after a slight hesitation.

"Nicole? I'm outside your room. Are you still sleeping?"

"I'm up…" she uttered and turned to look at the man with a face full of smiles beside her.

She didn't know how she was supposed to explain to Zachary about the sudden appearance of the man in her bed

when she opened the door later.
