Chapter 940 Get Under the Sheets And… Talk

Zachary stood outside the door and reminded Nicole in a warm voice, "Nicole, we have to visit Ms. Betty. Come out

when you're ready, okay?"

Hearing that, Nicole stretched out her hand and pushed Colton away before she rolled off the bed. Glaring at him,

she hissed, "Go hide in the toilet."

However, Colton continued to lean against the bed. All he did was brush his fingers across his hair as he smilingly

asked, "Why do I have to hide? It is not like I did something shameful."

He was right. They didn't do anything after all. But how was she supposed to tell Zachary that she and Colton had

only innocently shared a bed and slept?

Would anyone even believe that?

"Scram if you don't want to hide," she ordered under her breath.

She would not have opened the door for Colton last night if she knew she would end up in this dilemma now.

Colton narrowed his eyes slightly when he thought about how Nicole was saying this because she cared about how

Zachary felt.

Placing his palms on her cheeks, he looked at her with narrowed eyes and asked, "Are you worried that he would

find out about our relationship?"

"Nothing is going on between you and me!" Nicole warned with a frown on her face.

Zachary seemed to have realized that something was going on in the room. His voice went low when he asked,

"Nicole? Did something happen?"

Nicole quickly raised her voice slightly and denied it. "Nope! I just woke up, Zach. I'll need to freshen up a bit. I'll go

to you after I'm done preparing."

He hesitated for a second upon hearing that, but he soon replied, "Okay, I got it. Go ahead and get ready. I will wait

for you in the lobby."

Nicole only hummed in response. When she noticed that she couldn't hear anything from outside after a long time,

she finally let out a shallow breath.

Seeing her relax, Colton scooted over slyly and purred, "Nicky, you're making me feel like we are committing

adultery."

She rolled her eyes and pushed him away before fixing her clothes. "Didn't you rush here overnight, President

Gardner? Rest well. Don't tire yourself out," she stated.

Just as she was about to go to the bathroom and freshen up, someone held onto her wrist. The strong traction

caught her off-guard for a moment and she was hurled back to the bed.

She could feel the heat of that hard torso as she was imprisoned in the man's arms. She could clearly smell the

scent of his body.

"But Nicky, I came all the way here overnight for you," Colton drawled in a low voice. His warm breath and words

that tickled her ear were thick with ambiguity.

She frowned at the itchy sensation on the shell of her ear. When she could no longer take it, she barked, "Colton,

what the hell are you trying to do?!"

Seeing her get angry, he tactfully let go of her and chuckled. "Nothing much. I came here to see you."

Nicole didn't know what this man lazing around in her bed wanted, and she could only let out a loud sigh without

saying anything.

She only came out of the bathroom after she cleaned up and changed into fresh clothes.

By the time she came out, the man was still in bed, looking at her. He chuckled when he saw her all dressed up.

"Where are you going?" he asked.

She didn't even think of hiding the truth and told him, "I'm going to see Zachary."

She thought that Colton was going to lose his temper after she said that. To her surprise, he smiled and rasped,

"Fine. Hurry up, then. I'll be waiting for you here."

She couldn't help looking at him with a suspicious gaze. Did he flip a switch or something?

Colton seemed to see through her wariness and he languidly explained, "You and Zachary are going to the hospital

to see Ms. Betty, no? What is there for me to get jealous over? I'm not that kind of person."
