Chapter 941 Childish

Nicole proceeded to ignore Colton. After she was ready, she went downstairs to find Zachary.

When they got to the hospital, Betty had already started her recuperation.

This was a private hospital where only either the rich or noble could stay. The standard rooms were all separate,

and two nurses were stationed in each of them.

It was lunchtime when Nicole and Zachary reached their destination. Betty just so happened to be having her lunch.

Nicole took a glance at the food, noting that they were all nutritious. They must have included food therapy, she

thought.

Betty immediately beamed when she saw Nicole come into her room. Even though she was still pale, her voice

sounded robust.

"Nicole, you're here!"

"Yes, Ms. Betty. How are you feeling today?" Nicole asked in concern.

"Not too bad. I'm feeling pretty good." Betty shut her eyes and thought for a moment before she continued, "There

is no big issue now. The nurses are from our country. I can understand them, and they take good care of me.

Nicole, you should hurry back home to where your son is. A child needs their mother's care."

"It's alright. Madam Gould is taking care of Hayden. I'll only feel assured enough to go home when I'm sure you're

doing well here."

Betty didn't insist on it after that. They sat by the bedside and chatted for a bit before Nicole started to make a

move.

Zachary was also quick to reassure Nicole. "Don't worry. I know the director of this hospital and I have especially

told him to pay attention to Ms. Betty. They will definitely take good care of her."

Nicole nodded in response. However, she was guilt-ridden when she lifted her head and saw the gentle look on

Zachary's face.

She hadn't even managed to reply to him when a man with a confident gait strode in their direction.

She immediately froze. What is Colton doing here?

Colton was dressed in black casual clothes today. The way he let his soft hair sit all fluffy-looking on his head made

him look much more docile than his usual sharp image.

He took a step forward and greeted them. "Hola."

Zachary's gaze grew cautious when he saw Colton. He took a small step ahead, perfectly blocking Nicole behind

him with his body.

Expression cold, he stared at Colton with emotionless, clear eyes for a long minute before he finally uttered, "What

a coincidence, President Gardner."

Colton flashed a wide smile at that. "Not at all. I came here for Nicky."

He then tilted his body and quirked an eyebrow at Nicole.

Zachary's face fell as he held Nicole by her wrist. "President Gardner, Nicole doesn't like you. Please respect her

decision."

Colton raised his eyes to look at Zachary then. He had to admit that Zachary's appearance and background made

him a worthy competitor. However, Colton had never enjoyed having others touch what was his.

His gaze soon fell to Zachary's hand that was grabbing Nicole's, and he let out a sneer.

"She doesn't like me, you say?" His dark eyes were as deep and biting as an abyss. "You don't think she likes you, do

you, President Yates? You must have forgotten that Nicky and I got engaged not long ago. She is now my fiancée."

"Nicole told me that you and she are only putting on a show."

Neither of the men was willing to compromise as they bickered.

Nicole was slightly speechless by how they kept hurling thorny words at each other. Their combined age is around

50 or 60. Why are they still acting like children?

Lightly clearing her throat, she reminded them, "President Gardner and President Yates, we are at a hospital.

Please watch yourselves."

Zachary only stopped upon hearing that. He lowered his gaze and took a glance at her as he urged, "Let's go,

Nicole."

But before they could even take more than a few steps, Colton suddenly grabbed Nicole's other hand.

"Nicky, I have something to tell you."
