“So what if I haven’t paid for them? What does that have anything to do with you? You don’t have the

money to buy them, anyway!” The woman shot Winnie a scornful glance before going on, “I could

never understand why some people would shop in a high-end store like this when all they could afford

was a pair of flats. Are you even able to pay up if the clothes are ruined in your hands?”

“Ha.” A sneer escaped from Winnie’s lips. “I guess I’ll never know if I’d end up damaging the clothes or

compensating for them, but what I do know is that even in my flats, I’m still taller than you and your sky-

high heels.”

The woman’s face flushed red with fury as she heard Winnie insinuating that she was short, for that

had always been her sore spot.

Immediately, she stormed right up to Winnie. “Hey! Who are you calling short?”

Even when that woman’s ears had already turned crimson from all the quarreling, there Winnie was,

still wearing a visage as calm as a millpond. “I didn’t mean anything like that. Oh, but I can’t help it if

you insist on taking criticism for yourself,” was Winnie’s response.

The woman went through the roof on the spot. “Shut the hell up! Just get lost if you’re too broke to get

anything. Stop embarrassing yourself.”

Amused, Winnie was about to say something when Lucas suddenly marched toward them.

Unfortunately for the angry woman, Lucas hadn’t the slightest inclination to conduct himself in a

gentlemanly manner. In fact, he had a wicked tongue.

“Did I mishear you, brainless dwarf? You said she’s too broke to buy the clothes here?”

The second that woman heard the word “dwarf,” she flew off the handle. Glaring daggers at Lucas, she

fumed, “Who the heck are you? You’d better keep your nose out of this!”

As soon as she finished chirping, she scrutinized Lucas from head to toe.

Nevertheless, she failed to perceive a thing because the latter was garbed in his personal, custom-

made attire, and there wasn’t anything similar like his in the market.

With a contemptuous smirk playing about her lips, she cast a peek at Lucas. “Oh, I get it now. You two

must be a couple—a couple of paupers. You want to speak up for her, don’t you? Why don’t you pay

for those two dresses that caught her eye, then? But I should remind you that they each cost more than

a hundred thousand, and they don’t go well with flats, just so you know. Pfft. Some people can be so

pretentious. They rather hog the good stuff despite knowing that it’ll be wasted on them,” she said, her

tone cynical.

Lucas only found the woman’s words humorous. He stared at the latter as if she were some clown.

“Don’t you know that even if we were to throw them away, they still wouldn’t fit you? Feeling jealous is

your only way out.”

With that said, Lucas wrapped his arm around Winnie’s shoulders and continued with a mischievous

grin, “Darling, I’m thinking of buying you every single piece of clothing in this shop. What say you? If

you think those flats of yours would look out of place, we could always let our wolfhound wear them.”

Wolfhound? Only he could come up with an idea like that at a time like this. Winnie sneaked a peek at

Lucas on that note.

With a tinge of disdain in her eyes, she pulled away Lucas’ hand from her shoulders.

In all seriousness, she refuted, “Your suggestion sounds really good. Even so, I don’t think it would be

necessary for you to pick up the tab. I can do it myself.”

“Tsk.” The woman standing opposite them unwittingly rolled her eyes. “Excuse me. I understand it’s not

a crime to show off, but please, you guys should at least try to tamp it down a little. Do you really have

what it takes to buy everything that is in this shop? What a joke.”

Winnie couldn’t be bothered by those sardonic comments. A glance was all she gave to the woman.

Following that, Winnie waved at one of the salespeople and demanded, “Bring me your store

manager.”

Truth be told, the salespeople had already caught sight of the commotion that had been going on. Still,

none of them had chosen to step in because things hadn’t gone out of hand yet.

Looking at Winnie who wasn’t clad in branded clothes, the salespeople had zero knowledge of Winnie’s

identity. On the flip side, they could easily recognize the other bad-tempered woman, who was none

other than Shania Hamilton.

Shania was a starlet who had made quite a name for herself after debuting in a web series. Before

shooting to stardom, she had always been a nobody; after becoming famous, she, however, began to

behave like a stuck-up snob despite not making it to the B-list.

Although she was well-known for having a terrible temper, Lady Luck smiled at her and granted her a

wealthy sponsor. Because of that, the vast majority of people wouldn’t dare to mess with her.

Alas, no one would have ever expected her to trigger an argument with another customer. What made

matters worse was that the other party didn’t even know who Shania was, let alone exercise

forbearance toward the latter.

Putting the ruckus aside, it was a scene so gratifying for one to witness firsthand how the poser Shania

was being snapped at.

As the salespeople enjoyed the drama, they eventually summoned the store manager over.

Without further ado, Winnie fished out a nationwide limited edition Centurion Card then and there.

“I’m getting all the ladies’ wear you have for today. Oh, right. The only exception would be that piece on

that woman over there because it’s been stained.”

Seeing Winnie’s card, the store manager went wide-eyed with her mouth agape, but she still accepted

the card.

Considering that the store manager had a knack for distinguishing a person’s status, she instantly put

forward an inquiry. “Sorry to intrude, miss, but are you Ms. Vivian Speiser, if I may ask?”

Winnie was taken aback to have her identity pointed out all of a sudden. Be that as it might, she

returned a gracious smile. “Yes, I am. Don’t worry. You can swipe the card.”

As she spoke, she reached out to Lucas. “Pass me your name card.”

Stunned momentarily, Lucas didn’t know why Winnie requested his name card, yet he did her bidding

nonetheless.

Without a second thought, Winnie handed Lucas’ name card over to the store manager, instructing, “I’ll

pick a dress to take it with me later. As for the rest, please deliver them to this address.”

“Sure.” After verifying that the lady right before her eyes was indeed Vivian from the Speiser family, the

store manager no longer doubted whether Winnie could afford the items in the shop.

In the meantime, Lucas was dumbstruck on the spot. “Why are you sending the whole bunch of ladies’

wear to my place?”

Winnie shrugged and replied, “Consider it a gift to show my appreciation. Anyway, you have so many

girlfriends. You can use this opportunity to please them with those dresses. Plus, there are various

styles for them to choose from.”

“Oh.” Lucas bobbed his head, deliberately shifting his line of sight to the starlet Shania. “I suppose

that’ll work. My girlfriends would get to wear a new dress every single day. Sadly, somebody must be

green with envy.” A mocking sigh accompanied his breath as he made that statement.

Shania could discern that Lucas was insulting her. In fact, she had a burning desire to charge at him

and rip his tongue out.

Noticing that Shania was about to flounce ahead, her assistant tugged at her arm at once. “Calm down,

Ms. Hamilton. Why don’t we make a move first? If they can buy up the entire shop, they clearly aren’t

someone to be trifled with. Actually, I think this piece suits your complexion perfectly, so why don’t we

get this?” the assistant advised in a meek voice.

“Nonsense!” shouted Shania. Yet, knowing that her assistant did have a point, she secretly yielded.

Still, she was reluctant to admit defeat on the surface. “What a lousy shop and mediocre clothes! I have

no need for any of them!”

Upon finishing her yelling, she bolted into the fitting room in a huff. Within a minute, she crumpled the

dress that she had tried on earlier into a ball and tossed it out.

Coincidentally, at that point in time, Lisanne stepped out of the restroom.

Having been in the restroom the whole time prior, she wasn’t aware of what had happened thus far.

She approached Winnie and asked, “How’s it going? Did you find anything to your liking?”

“Yes, I sure did. You should also pick one or two for yourself,” prompted Winnie.

Lisanne shook her head. “There’s yet to be an occasion where I’d wear these clothes. Lucas also said

that nothing suits his taste. Well, since you’re done here, then let’s go.”
