The two people stared at each other for less than a second before Harold hurriedly hid.

It was because the terrorists in the chemical plant were rushing forward with guns in their hands.

Having fallen victim to Harold’s scheme, Winnie was instantly the center of attention.

As bullets flew toward her, she cursed softly before hiding behind a wall.

That was the only place that she could hide behind.

James had gotten wind of the situation through the audio received by Winnie’s earpiece and reports

from the Special Task Force.

He immediately said to Winnie, “Make sure to take cover and hide. Reinforcements have not arrived,

but I will get the Special Task Force to cover for you. Try your best to retreat.”

Winnie frowned. “It’s not easy to retreat now. Once I reveal my head, my location will be revealed.

Harold has placed a flare outside the chemical plant. Officer Clark, please listen to me. I’ll take good

care of myself. I only wish that you could protect Xavier. I don’t want him to get hurt.”

“No. Your life and safety are equally important, and you can’t be reckless.”

“I won’t be.”

However, once Winnie finished speaking, the second flare lit up in the night sky.

Harold did not aim in Winnie’s direction but at a patch of forestation outside the chemical plant.

At first, Winnie did not understand what Harold intended to do. However, after a gunshot sounded out,

she immediately understood his plan.

Harold was shining at the place where the Special Task Force was hiding.

A member of the Special Task Force had been revealed by the flare.

Without aiming, the terrorists took their guns and shot at the patch of forestation.

Winnie did not know what the situation was like for the members of the Special Task Force, and she did

Meanwhile, two terrorists had fallen.

At the same time, James’ voice sounded through her earpiece. “Special Task Force is engaging in

direct combat with the enemy. You have to find a place to hide. Be careful of stray bullets.”

“Yes!” Winnie did not dare to reveal herself and could only continue hiding behind the wall.

She momentarily escaped danger because of the crossfire from the two sides.

Yet, she did not understand why Harold would do such a thing.

If he wanted her dead, he did not need to shine a flare in the patch of forestation. He only needed to

shine a flare above her head.

Winnie could not escape. She raised her head and looked at the rooftop, hoping that she could spot

Harold.

The latter was a crazy man. He was like a bomb that could explode at any time. She could not let him

escape again and wreak havoc.

Just as she was wondering where he was, he lit up another flare.

Winnie soon located him.

The three flares were shining in different directions. Based on his earlier trajectory, Winnie predicted his

next move.

There was a platform near the west that was merely a meter above the ground.

Winnie speculated that Harold would jump from the platform.

Hence, she immediately crept over and waited for him.

Ten seconds, thirty seconds, fifty seconds… Winnie counted silently in her heart.

Finally, on the sixtieth second, a black figure jumped from the platform above Winnie.

Winnie had been waiting for him with a stun baton.

When he landed, Winnie immediately lunged toward him.

However, his reaction was very fast. When Winnie lunged toward him, he immediately squatted and

rolled away.

Yet, Winnie’s reaction was equally fast. When she realized that Harold was trying to escape, she swiftly

got up and pressed him down.

She had originally wanted to tackle Harold from behind, but with the way things turned out, they were

currently facing each other.

Presently, Winnie was wearing night vision goggles. Harold’s skin appeared grey, and his eyes shone

with a faint green light.

He wore a mask to cover the bottom half of his face, and the top half of his face was revealed to her.

Apart from the skin near his eyes that was relatively smooth, the rest of his face was covered with ugly

scars.

She realized that Harold had not had plastic surgery to look like someone else. However, as Mason

had said, the skin near his eyes had been repaired.

Yet, such thoughts were only fleeting.

When she tackled Harold, she immediately used the stun baton on him.

The weapon emitted a crackling sound, and Harold convulsed along with the sound of the baton.

When Winnie saw that, she heaved a sigh of relief.

Thankfully, James had prepared the stun baton for her. If not, she would have to exert an extraordinary

amount of effort to catch Harold.

Regardless, Winnie did not let down her guard. She had to find something to restrain Harold while he

was unconscious.

However, just as she stood up, a large hand grabbed her ankle firmly.

The hand was like a steel constraint. It pulled her to the ground.

Winnie’s eyes widened in shock.

Harold held on to her ankle firmly and got up with a sinister grin on his face.

He stared at Winnie and removed the mask on his face, revealing the terrifying scars on his face.

“Ha! You didn’t expect it, did you? I was faking it. I’m wearing an insulated bulletproof vest. You didn’t

think that I would come here without any preparations, did you? Dear Winnie… Ms. Vivian, you are

f*cking intelligent. You actually came here to obstruct me. Aren’t you afraid that I’ll kill you?”

“I’m definitely afraid!” Winnie used her other leg to kick Harold’s head. “Otherwise, why would I want to

come here to catch you?”

Harold did not expect Winnie would be so strong. Although he managed to dodge, his cheek was hit by

her leg.

He was enraged. Taking advantage of his height and weight, he jumped up and lunged at Winnie

before tackling her to the ground.

Winnie could not escape and could only reach for the stun baton.

Since Harold was wearing an insulated bulletproof vest, she would use the stun baton on his neck and

head. She did not believe that it would not work on his exposed skin.

Harold soon understood her intention.

With his long arms, he reached for the stun baton first.

Thereafter, he threw the stun baton away in front of Winnie’s eyes.

“B*tch! You still want to electrocute me! Do you really think that I’m a fool?” As Harold spoke, he pulled

Winnie’s necklace from her neck. “Don’t think that I don’t know about the gadgets hidden in your body.

I’ll throw them away and see what you can do!”

After throwing away Winnie’s necklace, Harold clutched Winnie’s neck firmly. “B*tch! If I were not

rushing for time, I would definitely not let you die so easily! F*ck!”
