Harold had dragged Winnie into the confines of the chemical plant.

Inside, Winnie was surprised to still see Harold’s men.

When the two men patrolling with guns saw Harold returning with Winnie, they opened the door at

once.

Thereafter, they conversed in Manchernian.

Harold asked them, “What is the situation in front?”

One of the men replied, “The police have taken out most of the men, so we only have a few left. As for

the old man, he is no match for us at all.”

Harold gave the man who spoke the side-eye. “Tell our comrades to be careful. That scientist is worth a

lot of money, so we need him alive. Do you understand?”

“Yes, Boss!” The man threw Winnie a glance. “Boss, why don’t you leave the woman with us so that

you can take charge?”

“Leave her with you?” Harold turned around to give Winnie a look. “I’m afraid you would be dead before

you know what hit you. Now, tie this woman’s hands up for me!”

“Right away!” Upon receiving his order, Harold’s subordinate bound Winnie’s hands tightly with a belt.

Despite that, Harold remained worried. He instructed another subordinate to take off his belt and used

it to strengthen Winnie’s bonds.

Winnie’s wrists hurt from being tightly bound. She gave Harold the side-eye.

“Aren’t you overestimating my capabilities? Just look at the pathetic condition I am in. How am I

capable of anything?”

“How are you capable of anything?” Harold lowered his gaze to glare at Winnie. “Haven’t you heard the

saying that women are nothing but trouble? And you certainly can cause a lot of it!”

Because of her suffering an injury to her organs, blood oozed out of the corner of her mouth, which

made her look inexplicably attractive.

For some strange reason, Harold was seduced by her appearance, and he stared at her with naked

desire.

As he reached out to wipe the blood off her mouth, Winnie, disgusted by the look in his eyes, turned

her head away to avoid contact.

“Don’t give me that dirty look. It makes me nauseous.”

Harold’s expression darkened. “Is that so? The more the reason I want—”

Before he could finish, a subordinate hurriedly approached him.

“Boss, the police reinforcements are here. The terrorists can’t hold on any longer. They’ve been beaten

so badly that they’re on the retreat. Should we make our move now?”

“Let’s go in first!” With that, he pinched Winnie’s cheek. “I’ll let you off today, but the next time, I’m going

to put you in your place.”

Winnie’s brows furrowed when she was struck by a sudden realization. “You weren’t just trying to seek

revenge on me when you lured me and the police here. You were also aiming for the scientist and the

results of his research, weren’t you? You wanted to use the police to beat back the terrorist so that you

could take advantage of the chaos!”

“Winnie, it’s a shame that I can’t have a woman as clever as you to work for me. That said, I can still

take pleasure in your beauty even if your brains are not at my disposal.”

The frown on Winnie’s face deepened.

No wonder he mentioned he was in a hurry today and shot the flare directly in the Special Task Force’s

direction. His true goal was to ignite a battle between them and the terrorists.

Meanwhile, the lights inside the chemical plant were still on. Most of the terrorists were engaged in

battle outside.

Only three were left behind to guard the white-haired scientist.

Concerned about the situation outside, none of them expected to be attacked by Harold out of

nowhere.

Soon, Harold’s men eliminated the three men and took control of the Alpha radioactive gas.

By then, the radioactive gas had already been filled into four sealed containers.

After Harold and his three subordinates took one each, they prepared to make their exit, which Harold

had planned meticulously.

Upon ordering some of his men out to divert the police’s attention, he opened a sewerage tunnel cover.

However, just before they jumped down, a few terrorists suddenly retreated into the room.

The terrorists were no match for the police. They had no choice but to take cover inside.

Unfortunately for them, Harold’s men swiftly took them out.

With the terrorists all killed, Harold dragged Winnie down the sewerage tunnel with him.

Winnie turned around to face him. “There’s no escape. The police will be here soon.”

Throwing her a glance, Harold curled his lips smugly. “Go down now! If I’m killed today, I’m taking you

with me. At the very least, I can be a philandering ghost with you by my side in hell.”

Winnie spat at Harold’s disgusting face.

Harold suppressed his anger, as he knew now wasn’t the time to teach her a lesson.

After sending a few more men to take on the police outside, he grabbed Winnie and jumped into the

underground tunnel with his subordinates.

As the space within the sewerage tunnel was wide, it was easy for anyone to travel through them.

Harold kept pushing her forward. Winnie felt as if she had walked for a great distance.

Throughout the journey, she wanted to get in touch with those outside but wasn’t able to do so because

of the sealed confines of the underground tunnel.

An indeterminate time passed before she finally saw light, but she was swiftly dragged into a car by

Harold.

However, the sound of a helicopter rotor above her head was soon heard.

Realizing that the police were on his tail, Harold ordered his subordinate to floor the accelerator as they

zig-zagged through the winding mountain road.
