Chapter 327.1 Acquaintances (1)

Ann finally began to piece things together and realized that Imogen and the unreasonable woman

named Ivette were acquaintances.

While the two argued, Imogen subtly signalled Ann to leave.

Ann chose to stay because she knew that if she left, Ivette would likely pin the blame on Imogen.

Ivette, however, had no intention of actually calling the police. She shot Imogen a spiteful glance and

then turned to leave.

As Ivette disappeared around the corner, Imogen shifted her focus and smiled at Ann. She asked, “Are

you okay?”

Ann responded with gratitude, “I’m fine. Thank you, Ms. Forbes.”

Imogen continued, “It’s nothing. I overheard you mention that today is your last day working here?”

Ann explained, “Yes, that’s right. I had to take a break from school earlier due to my father’s health

issues. But now he’s improving, and I’ve resumed my studies.”

Imogen congratulated her. “Please give my regards to him for his recovery.”

“Thank you. I’m going to get a broom to clean up this mess,” Ann replied.

“Go ahead.” Imogen said and then headed to the restroom.

When she returned from the restroom, she noticed someone had taken her seat across from Troy.

As she got closer, she recognized the person as Ivette.

While Troy was on stage singing, Ivette had noticed him.

She was hurrying earlier in an attempt to catch up with Troy.

As she walked through the corridor, she caught sight of Troy and swiftly made her way over. She

plopped down in the seat across from him and greeted him cheerfully. “Hey, handsome. We meet

again.”

Troy looked at her and asked, “Do I know you?”

Ivette was left speechless. Could she be so forgettable that people couldn’t recognize her at all?

She smiled gently and said, “We met at the mall.”

“Oh, the one who fell flat on the ground?” Troy asked.

Ivette went speechless again.

She wasn’t the one who tripped and fell!

It must have been some other little temptress trying to catch his attention!

She changed the subject and continued, “I never thought someone as handsome as you would have

such an amazing singing voice.”

“Thank you for the compliment.”

“Don’t you think we’re fated to meet? You look so much like my cousin, not to mention we’ve bumped

into each other twice in one day.”

Troy replied flatly, “Nah.”

Ivette pursed her lips slightly and played her trump card. “You’re Troy, right? Do you happen to know

my cousin? He’s also in New York City.”

Troy had already guessed she was referring to Yohan when they met at the mall.

Ivette had a distinctive accent, and she liked it that way.

Her expensive attire wasn’t something an average person could afford.

Moreover, Troy was used to being mistaken for Yohan in the past.

Although Troy didn’t see the resemblance between himself and Yohan, Ivette was banking on it.

“I’m not interested in you or your cousin. Can I go now?” Troy replied coldly.

Ivette’s expression stiffened. She bit her lip, with a slight air of pride and superiority in her “My cousin is

Yohan!” She exclaimed.

gaze.

Surely he knew who Yohan was, right?

If that was the case, he should treat her with a bit more respect, considering their connection. Troy

responded indifferently, “Yohan, who? Should I know him?”

Ivette was left stunned, speechless.

She stood up and left, a mixture of embarrassment and frustration on her expression.

Imogen raised an eyebrow and glanced toward Ivette’s departure before returning to her seat across

from Troy, feeling curious. “What did she say to you?”

Troy replied, “Nothing much, just trying to initiate a conversation.”

“Did she ask to add you on Facebook? Did you add her?”

“Does it look like she had a positive response?”

“No, she didn’t.”

“Then that settles it.”

Troy drove Imogen to her apartment and pulled up by the lobby instead of heading to the parking

lot.

Imogen attempted to push the car door to get out but failed.

She turned to Troy, signalling for him to unlock the central lock.

Troy didn’t move, watching Imogen with soft eyes. “Have you cooled down?”
