Chapter 673

After Amelia finished speaking, Matilda hugged Amelia and cried bitterly. Amelia patted Matilda’s back and

comforted the latter softly by saying, “Mom, stop crying. Stop crying…”

In fact, the one person that she was worried about was not Aiden but Matilda. As a daughter, Amelia was unable to

take care of Matilda when the latter was getting old even though Matilda had spent so much effort on her.

Amelia went to the nearby food market to buy ingredients for the food cart. On her way back, she happened to

meet Lucas.

Seeing Amelia, Lucas was overjoyed. “What a right timing. I was worried that no one would be at home if I were to

go to your house.”

“Why are you here?” Amelia asked.

W

“I happened to be doing something nearby, so I came here to send some toys. They were all my toys when I was

small, but they are

well-preserved. When I talked to Aiden before, he was very interested, so I wanted to send some toys for him to

play with. You can just throw the toys away when they are broken. Anyway, they are small toys that are worth not

much,” Lucas said.

“Thank you.” Amelia thanked him.

“Are you going to move these things up? Let me help you!” Looking at the ingredients on Amelia’s tricycle, Lucas

rolled up his sleeves and helped her carry the ingredients together.

Amelia thanked him once again.

They went upstairs with the ingredients and they did not notice a car parked not far away. The person in the car

was looking at the scene with a gloomy gaze.

Lucas did not stay long. He just put down the toys he brought there, chatted for a while, and was about to leave.

“I’ll send you downstairs,” Amelia said. Then, she added, “Besides, I’ll have to go downstairs and clean up the bike

for the food cart anyway.”

Then, they went downstairs. Lucas asked hesitantly, “Is… Rosalie okay now?”

“She’s very good. Moreover, she gets along well with Jonathan now, and

their baby will be born in a few months,” Amelia replied.

A trace of loneliness flashed across Lucas’ face, but he still said sincerely, “It’s great that she has a good life.”

Rosalie was the woman he really liked, and he also hoped that she could be able to have a good life after the

hardships were over and be truly happy.

Amelia watched the man’s lonely expression, raised her hand, and patted him on the shoulder. “You’re a good man,

and you will find a good woman in the future!”

“I hope so.” Lucas rubbed his nose self-deprecatingly. “What about you? When are you going to find Aiden a father?

It’s too hard for a woman to raise a child in this way.”

Amelia smiled gently and did not say anything. “Finding another father for Aiden? I’ll never have that chance,” she

mused to herself.

Under the sunlight, Lucas looked at Amelia’s smile. For a moment, he could not help but be stunned. He only felt

that her smile was fragile and empty at the moment.

Even the person in front of him seemed to give a feeling that she was about to turn into bubbles and would

disappear.

“What’s the matter?” It was not until Amelia’s voice sounded that he came back to his senses.

He quickly calmed down and said, “N-Nothing. I’m going back now. If you need any help, please call me.”

“Thank you,” Amelia responded.

When Lucas turned around and left, Amelia still looked directly at his back. It was as if she was being wistful about

something or that she was feeling the loss of something.

When Lucas got in the car and drove out of the residential area, Amelia finally turned around and walked toward

her electric bike with the food cart. She only took a few steps when she suddenly heard footsteps approaching her

quickly. The next moment, someone grabbed one of her arms and pulled her until she turned around.

“What’s the matter? Is that man just now the one you are going to spend your new life with?” Warren’s mocking

voice was heard in Amelia’s ear.

Then, she was able to see his austere and cold expression.

Looking at Warren in a suit, a look of surprise flashed across Amelia’s eyes. “Why are you here?”

“What’s the matter? Shouldn’t I be here?” Warren asked coldly. He slightly frowned and there was displeasure on

his face. At the thought of her gazing at that ordinary-looking man with a smile on her face, he was

very upset.

She had never smiled like that in front of him, but she was smiling at an ordinary man. Moreover, he wondered if

she did not fight for custody because of the man.

“Amelia, are you so desperate for men? As long as it is a man who gives you some attention, you can’t wait to

abandon Aiden and marry him. Do you even plan to give birth to his children?” Warren said sarcastically.

Every word of his was like a sharp weapon that pierced her.

Amelia looked at the man in front of her quietly. Then, she raised another hand that was not held by him and

touched her heart.

She thought, ‘It doesn’t hurt anymore. So it turns out that his words can’t hurt me anymore.

It doesn’t hurt because now, I have really let it go.

What a good thing. When you really don’t love someone, no matter what he says can’t hurt you anymore.

Amelia said indifferently, “Mr. York, I thought we had reached an agreement that day. These three months will be

the time for me and Aiden to get along with each other. Please don’t disturb me. Three months later, I will naturally

hand over Aiden to you, and I promise I won’t show up in front of you and Aiden again.”

Nevertheless, the more indifferent she was, the more upset he felt. Even her calmness made him feel particularly

irritated.

“Agreement?” He suddenly snorted coldly. “Since you also said it was an agreement, there is no evidence to prove

it. We should put it down into writing so that it counts.”

Amelia pondered for a while and said, “Okay. I’ll write the agreement later, seal it with my fingerprints, and deliver

it to you.”

“I want it now!” he exclaimed.

“You…” She frowned and felt that he was so aggressive at the moment. “What? Since you don’t want Aiden

anymore, is it so difficult to give me an agreement now?” He sneered and added, “The house you’re renting now is

just above us, right? It’s so convenient. Let’s just go to your place. After you’ve written the agreement, I’ll take it

with me.”

Then, Amelia took a deep breath and said. “Are you saying that if I were to write the agreement and give it to you

today, you won’t bother me anymore in the next three months?”

The word “bother seemed to provoke Warren. He glared at her. “Do you

think you have the right to let me bother you, Amelia? You’re just a woman who has been in prison and now hooks

up with others everywhere.”
