Chapter 1044

“It’s not that bad. Just slightly painful. You can drive first. I want to go back as soon as possible,” Amelia said.

Warren’s face darkened, and he started the car again.

However, when the car stopped again, Amelia found that Warren had not driven to her concession stand. Instead,

he directly parked the car at the hospital entrance.

“I don’t need to go to the hospital. I just need—” Before Amelia could finish her words, Warren hurriedly carried

Amelia out of the car and walked quickly to the emergency room. Then, he asked to see a doctor in a hurry.

Warren even called someone, and through his connection, asked the liver specialist at the hospital to go to the

emergency room and check on Amelia. It was as if her condition was very critical at that time.

After the doctors examined Amelia, they said that her pain was just some normal pain that would occasionally

occur after a liver transplant. The pain could only be relieved by drugs.

Moreover, they said that the pain would gradually disappear after some time.

Once Warren knew the result of the examination, he did not feel embarrassed for making a mountain out of a

molehill. Instead, he breathed a sigh of relief.

“Do you have any painkillers at home?” Warren asked.

“Yes, but I didn’t bring the pills with me today,” Amelia replied.

“Is the pain frequent?”

“Not really.”

Warren raised his hand and gently pressed his palm on the area where Amelia’s liver was located. Amelia stiffened

and subconsciously tried to put some distance between them. The problem was that she was lying on a temporary

bed in the emergency room, so there was no place to retreat at all.

Then, Warren spoke as if he felt very grateful. “Fortunately, your body didn’t reject my liver. Sometimes I even

wonder whether this is the

reason for me to be alive.”

He was alive because a part of his body was able to help her continue her life.

Amelia frowned. “What do you want, Warren?”

“Don’t you know what I want?” Warren stared at the person in front of him and added, “Back then, your bone

marrow saved my life, Amelia. Now, part of my liver is in your body. Thus, our flesh and blood have long been

inseparable. It’s impossible for us to dissociate ourselves from each other.”

She trembled slightly as his body gradually leaned forward. His austere-looking face was getting closer and closer

to her.

However, at that moment, his face was not as indifferent as usual. Instead, there was a hint of him begging.

“Your body doesn’t reject my liver, Amelia. So, can you… not refuse me as well? Maybe there’s another chance for

us.”

He wanted to be with her for the rest of his life.

“There is no other chance for us. It’s already the best for both of us not to have anything to do with each other,

Warren,” Amelia responded.

Warren’s face suddenly turned extremely pale.

At that moment, Amelia’s phone rang. She immediately took out her phone and found that the call was from

Matilda.

“Why haven’t you come back yet, Amelia? Have you found Nadine?” Matilda’s anxious voice was heard.

“Oh, yes. Someone found her and brought her to the police station. Lucas has already taken Nadine home. I’m

coming home now as well,” Amelia replied in a hurry.

“I’m glad she has been found. I’m really glad,” Matilda repeated.

After ending the call, Amelia quickly got out of the hospital bed and packed her things. “I need to go back.” Then,

she hurriedly ran out of the

emergency room.

Warren seemed to have suddenly come to his senses. He chased after her and said, “I brought you out today, so I

should be the one to send you home.”

The car headed for the concession stand, and the two of them did not talk during the journey.

Once the car stopped at the entrance of the concession stand, Amelia opened the door and prepared herself to get

out of the car

“I don’t believe that the best thing is for us not to have anything to do with each other anymore, Amelia. Since you

chose to give birth to Aiden, there will always be something between us forever,” Warren muttered in a low voice.

Amelia lowered her head and got out of the car without saying anything.

It was not until her figure entered the concession stand that he smiled bitterly and started the car to leave.

As soon as Matilda saw Amelia coming back, the former hurriedly asked, “Warren… didn’t do anything to you,

right?” After all, Amelia went out with Warren.

“No, he just helped to find Nadine,” Amelia said.

At night, Amelia pulled Aiden to stand in front of her and said, “Do you want to continue learning boxing? Or do you

want to see the kind of fight that was more practical like the one that your father took you to see last time?”
