Chapter 694

Amelia returned home and carefully placed Aiden on the bed. Her phone beeped, alerting her to a notification. She

glanced at it and realized it was a news feed.

Usually, she would not care about such a news feed. However, the news caught her attention, and she quickly

grabbed her phone and rushed to open the link to the news.

“T-This news is about Callum!” she exclaimed inwardly.

The news announced that Callum had joined forces with the Tall family of Jacaster. Moreover, he had suddenly

turned up at the shareholders’ meeting today and confiscated the power and rights of the White family. Following

that, the police also arrested the first branch lady of the White family and her two sons. They were suspected of

committing an

intentional tort.

At that point, it could be said that the White family’s first branch had lost everything.

Meanwhile, Callum had become the ultimate winner of the competition. However, there was another rumor in the

news that the White family and the Tall family planned to strengthen their ties by arranging a marriage of

convenience. Their businesses and assets might even merge in the future.

Amelia was shocked. She pondered, “The White Family will arrange a marriage of convenience with the Tall

Family… Does that mean Callum will marry someone from the Tall Family? After all, if the two sons of the White

family’s first branch end up in prison, Callum will be the only one who is eligible for the marriage of convenience.

But if that is the case, what will happen to Lillian?”

When Amelia thought of Lillian, she couldn’t help but feel nervous and worried.

However, there was nothing she could do about it at that time. She finally called Rosalie.

“Rosalie, I just read the news. It is said that Callum has appeared, and the White family is considering a marriage of

convenience with the Tall family. Is it true?” Amelia asked hurriedly.

Rosalie replied, “It’s true, at least for now. The news report should be true,

but I still have to meet Callum in person and ask him what is going on. As for this matter, please hide it from Lillian

first. I’ve also told her parents to keep her in the dark until we figure out what’s happening.”

“Okay. I get it!” Amelia replied.

When Rosalie ended the call, she turned to look at Jonathan and said, “I want to see Callum in person and ask him

what’s going on!”

“But the current state of your body is not suitable for long-distance travel. It’s inconvenient no matter what kind of

transportation you take,” Jonathan reminded her.

“But… That’s Callum. He’s the one Lillian has been longing for and thinking of when she regained consciousness!”

Rosalie anxiously stated. She had heard the news earlier than Amelia and knew it was true.

Her thoughts were a mess. “The White family and the Tall family have a plan to merge their businesses.

And typically, the safest way for a business merger is through a marriage of convenience!

Furthermore, when Callum was with the “real” daughter of the Tall family, their behavior was indeed quite intimate.

Madeline held Callum’s arm when she accompanied Callum to the shareholders’ meeting of White Maple Group!’

Jonathan couldn’t help but sigh when he saw how worried Rosalie was, “Lillian is always so important to you.”

“If it weren’t for her, I wouldn’t be alive today!” Rosalie insisted.

Jonathan’s gaze flickered slightly. He thought, “It’s true. If Lillian hadn’t been seriously injured back then, Rosie

might not have come to ask me for help. Naturally, it would have been even more impossible for her to agree to

marry me at that time.”

“Okay. I’ll find a way to have Callum come to Strico so that you don’t have to travel back and forth between two

cities,” Jonathan said.

“What if he refuses to come to Strico?” Rosalie asked.

“He will come, and even if he refuses, I will have someone tie him up and bring him to Strico,” he reassured her.

As long as it was Rosalie’s wish, he would help her realize it!

Rosalie did meet Callum two days later. However, the person who came with him to Strico was Madeline, the

daughter of the Tall family.

Although Rosalie had seen Madeline’s photo before, she realized the lady was more beautiful than the photo when

she saw her in person. Madeline seemed born with an enchanting and seductive aura, which could easily

attract men’s attention.

“But… Callum shouldn’t be attracted to her! I’ve seen his devotion to Lillian. Would the devoted and loyal Callum fall

in love with Madeline? Either way, I need to hear his answer!” Rosalie exclaimed inwardly.

“Ms. Tall. I’d like to have a few words with Callum alone. Is that okay?” Rosalie asked.

“Excuse me, but there are no secrets between Callum and me. So, if you have something to say, just say it here,

Mrs. Youngblood. I can listen to whatever Callum can hear.” Madeline sat next to Callum, smiling slightly. She was

holding his hand and playing with his fingers casually.

Meanwhile, Callum didn’t stop Madeline from doing whatever she was doing.

Rosalie couldn’t help but squint her eyes when she saw that. Her anxiety began to intensify. “All right… Callum, I

want to ask you how Lillian got injured back then?”

“Lillian’s injury should be related to my half-brothers. The police have recorded everything I know. Rosalie, you can

ask the police if you want to know the details,” Callum replied.

Rosalie naturally knew the contents of his statement. However, his two elder brothers only admitted that they

kidnapped Lillian and used her to threaten Callum.

Lillian was badly injured during the kidnapping, and they deliberately abandoned her in the wilderness. However,

they had no idea how Lillian ended up near Strico with such severe injuries.

“Did you do nothing when Lillian was kidnapped?” Rosalie asked.

Callum answered indifferently, “I wanted to save her. Unfortunately, I failed at that time. I also didn’t know she was

abandoned in the wilderness by my two brothers.”

Rosalie stared at Callum sitting in front of her. His expression remained cold and indifferent as he spoke of Lillian as

if he were talking about an ordinary, unrelated person instead of the woman he had loved deeply. Even his eyes

showed no emotion.

‘How can he be like this? Lillian loves him so much! But Callum… How can he talk about Lillian so coldly?

10:15

Doesn’t he know that Lillian almost died?’ Rosalie exclaimed inwardly. Jonathan gently covered Rosalie’s hand with

his big hand as if he felt her irritation and anger at that moment. That brought Rosalie back to her

senses.

“It’s Jon’s hand!” she thought. She looked at Jonathan sitting beside her, and her emotions began to calm down.

“Well, allow me to ask him the questions,” Jonathan said to Rosalie before turning his gaze to Callum. “Now, does

Mr. White know that Lillian was found in a small village near Strico?”
