Chapter 794

At that moment, Jerick drove over and was surprised to see Callum standing beside Lillian.

Although Callum was not a celebrity, Jerick’s company happened to be cooperating with White Maple Group.

Working in the middle management of the company, Jerick had naturally seen Callum’s photos. Right then, Lillian

also saw Jerick and waved at Callum. “All right, now… My ride is here… Goodbye…”

With that, she was about to open the front passenger door and get in. However, the next moment, Callum suddenly

grabbed Lillian’s hand and pulled her away from the car. Then he said to Jerick, “You can go. I will send her back

today!”

After saying that, without waiting for Jerick to speak, Callum pulled Lillian all the way toward the car parked on the

other side.

“Callum… let go of me,” Lillian yelled.

Her outburst only solidified Jerick’s belief that this man was indeed Callum.

He wondered, “What is the chairman of White Maple Group doing here? And he looked jealous when he spoke to

me just now. Is he jealous of me?” Jerick shivered. “Is Callum Lillian’s ex-boyfriend? If it’s true, then unlike what the

outside world speculates, Callum is not in love with the eldest daughter of the Tall family. Perhaps… he still loves

Lillian!”

Callum had pulled Lillian into his car and suddenly let go of her hand.

Lillian fell to the passenger seat unsteadily. Before she came back to her senses, Callum had already sat in the

driver’s seat and started the car.

The car quickly drove in the direction of Lillian’s residence.

“Fasten your seat belt,” Callum said.

Lillian was still dizzy. She subconsciously obeyed Callum’s words, fastened her seat belt, and then couldn’t help but

look at Callum who was driving.

He seemed to be paler than before, with a thin layer of sweat on his forehead. His eyebrows were furrowed slightly

as if he was uncomfortable and suppressing something.

When the car stopped at an intersection and they waited for the traffic

light to turn green, Lillian asked, “Are you unwell?” Are you sick? Your forehead is a little sweaty.”

She took a tissue and raised her hand, wanting to wipe the sweat on his forehead.

However, before her hand could touch his forehead, he shouted harshly, “Don’t touch me!”

Lillian’s hand froze in the air, and she seemed to be much soberer.

Then she said embarrassedly, “Okay, I got it. I won’t touch you. You can wipe the sweat yourself.”

She put down the tissue and withdrew her hand.

She thought, “Does he feel disgusted if I touch him? Then why did he pull me into the car just now?”

There was an oppressive atmosphere in the car.

When the car arrived at the door of Lillian’s residential area, Lillian lowered her head, unfastened her seat belt, and

whispered, “Thank you.” Just as she was about to open the door, Callum’s voice rang out.

“Are you going to date that man?”

Lillian was stunned for a while before she realized that the man referred to Jerick.

“He’s very good. He’s financially secure, and we have something in common. Besides, he is also good-looking. I

guess it would be nice to date him if he likes me,” Lillian said.

“Because of this, you want to date him? So, you’re into him?” He glared at her.

She suddenly felt amused. “Why not? Men like him are the ones many women want to marry.”

“Lillian!” He raised his voice, and there seemed to be a faint anger in his

tone.

She was a little puzzled. She wondered, “What is he angry about? That I fall in love with another man? But it was he

who didn’t want me first. Besides, he has a girlfriend. Why does he care if I have a boyfriend or not?”

“Callum, I don’t know why you showed up in front of me. By accident? Or did you come to me on purpose? But

anyway, I have nothing to do with you. As I said before, I won’t destroy your relationship with your

girlfriend.”

After a pause, she added, “In fact, even if we broke up, I do hope you can live a good and happy life.” After all, the

man in front of her was the one she had really loved.

They broke up because they didn’t see eye to eye and she couldn’t help him in his career. What he wanted more

was the success of his career as compared to love.

As Lillian spoke, she reached out her hand to shake hands with Callum. “I guess this is goodbye.”

However, he didn’t reach out to hold her hand for a long time, and his eyes were still fixed on her.

She suddenly thought of something and laughed at herself. “You hate it when I touch you, don’t you? Well then, I

hope we won’t see each other again.”

Meeting again would only upset her more.

Lillian opened the door. Before she could get out of the car, Callum held her hand tightly.

He clenched her hand so tightly that her finger bones were hurting, and his face seemed to be pale at the moment.

“Lillian, I’ve… never hated you. Anyway, I just want you to live. If you encounter any difficulties in the future, you

can come to me and I will help you.”

After saying that, he let go of her hand.

When the door was/closed, he drove away. Lillian stood there dumbfoundedly and looked in the direction where the

car had left. Then she looked at her hand that had just been held, feeling confused. “What did Callum mean by

saying these words to me? Callum, we’ve broken up,” she murmured, but she was also warning herself. Since they

had broken up, there should be no more entanglement. Otherwise, she would only get trapped in it and it would

become increasingly difficult to

come out.

On Saturday, Lillian and Rosalie met.

“Why didn’t you take the two little ones out?” Lillian asked. She had wanted to see the two kids.

“When I talked to you on the phone earlier, I felt as if you were troubled by something, so I didn’t bring the two little

ones. If you want to see them, I’ll bring them next time,” Rosalie replied.
