Chapter 908

“Oh? Why didn’t you go in to watch?” He asked.

She rolled her eyes at him and said, “I’m pregnant. It’s not like you don’t know how noisy a concert can be. It’ll be

troublesome if I get bumped into inside.” Lillian wondered why Callum didn’t consider the risk, for he had attended

many concerts with her before.

His eyes suddenly softened. “So, you’re afraid of hurting the baby in your stomach?”

“I…” She choked and said nothing.

Callum’s voice sounded in her ear again. “Just now, Jerick thought you were pregnant and that I refused to take

responsibility for you.”

“That’s a misunderstanding on his part,” she hurriedly said.

“So, do you want me to be responsible for you?” he said.

Her eyes met his. In an instant, her heart was jolted as if she was going to sink into his gaze.

“How about it? Do you want me to take responsibility?” The voice’s bewitching allure made her want to nod in

agreement.

She thought, ‘No… No!

His taking responsibility has never been what I wanted.

Lillian shook her head. And that moment, the pressure in the air suddenly dropped a lot.

Callum’s eyes flashed with a trace of darkness. “Does that mean you don’t want to marry me? You rather be

scolded by your parents and let the child become an illegitimate child than be together with me?” She bit her lips

tightly and didn’t say anything.

He approached her again, “Lillian, do you hate me that much?”

She turned away to avoid looking into his eyes. The sight of him would only confuse her already chaotic mind

further.

The truth was, she had no idea what she should even be doing next.

“So, if I die one day, will you be sad and regret not spending the rest of your life with me?” Callum asked abruptly.

Lillian’s heart skipped a beat. She suddenly turned her head and said anxiously, “Why would you die? Aren’t you in

the pink of health right now?”

“Who knows what will happen tomorrow? A small problem today might escalate quickly. If I can’t survive it, I’ll just

die,” he muttered with a self-deprecating smile on his face.

“Just like now, I might be holding her hand, but she doesn’t know about the pain I’m suffering from.” The residual

curse in his body would bring pain that surged intermittently like waves.

The curse in his body had yet to be cleared, and he still needed two more sessions to do it. However, if he failed to

endure them, he would die.

“What about you? Do you hope that I live a long and healthy life?” he asked in a whisper.

“My hopes are irrelevant. You now have full control over White Maple Group and have plenty of people to protect

you. Also, the Tall family doesn’t pose any threat to you anymore. If you were to fall sick, you can also find the best

specialists to treat you,” Lillian said.

Callum still asked persistently, “I’m only asking you if you want me to live?”

With her throat seemingly burning, Lillian took a deep breath and said, “I wish to see you live well.” She had never

thought about killing him. What she wanted was to let go of the past with him and have each of them live out their

lives separately.

A smile appeared on his lips,, which spread to his eyes. In an instant, his black obsidian eyes sparkled like the stars.

“Okay, since you want me to live, I will definitely live well. No matter what, I will survive!” He held her with both

hands and pulled her into his arms.

Even if such a move would only exacerbate his pain, he still embraced her tightly.

She would never know how much strength her words gave him to persevere through the pain. “Lillian, wait for me.

Just give me a little more time,” Callum murmured in a low voice.

After the curse was removed from Callum, he would tell Lillian everything.

In the end, Lillian still watched the concert, but in a special VIP private room, where there were no crowds of fans

around.

She sat in the private room and watched the scene on stage through the transparent glass in front of her. At the

same time, there were many screens covering different angles of the stage, allowing her a comprehensive view of

the concert.

Lillian couldn’t help but be awed by the power of money, but watching the concert that way made her feel as if

something was lacking.

“What’s wrong? Are you not enjoying yourself?” Callum asked.

“I just think it’s a little weird. One should be able to scream and shout together with everyone else. It’s only fun if

you can go crazy together with the other fans,” Lillian said.

“I thought you wanted to watch the GB concert just to see the five men. As long as you get to see them, everything

else didn’t matter,” Callum replied languidly.

Lillian coughed abruptly. “Well… I wouldn’t say that. It’s not just about ogling at handsome men.”

“What else do you want to see?” he asked as he raised his eyebrows.

“Their figure!” Lillian thought to herself before saying, “Their talent. They sing very well.”

“Really?” Callum was skeptical.

At this moment, music sounded again on the stage. This time, an old song with a slow rhythm was being played.

The five members of GB spread themselves around the stage while singing the love song in unison. However, what

Lillian didn’t expect was that when GB started to sing the song, Callum also hummed it. Suddenly, she felt all her

attention being pulled toward him. It seemed as if she couldn’t hear GB sing at all. Instead, Callum’s voice was all

she could hear.

Callum’s voice had a resonant masculine tone to it, yet it carried a beautiful timbre rarely seen in men. It sounded

like an invisible feather floating gently in one’s heart, invoking the imagination of anyone who heard it.

By the time Callum finished his song, Lillian was utterly dumbfounded.

She didn’t know that Callum could sing so well. She had heard him sing when they were dating before, but at that

time, his singing was not that good.

“What do you think? Am I talented?” he asked in a leisurely manner.

“Um… yeah.” She mumbled, “But since well did you sing so well?”

“When it comes to singing, one just needs to put in some effort to learn and one will be fine,” he said.

“You actually took singing lessons? Why?” She was surprised, as it was unlike him to take an interest in such

activities.

Callum looked at Lillian and said, “What if I told you that I learned it back then to captivate you the next time we

met? Would you believe me?”
