Chapter 361 Creating Runes

The materials that Aethelwolf requested were soon delivered to their doorstep. He asked the servants to put them down and observed the quality of the materials.

Other than the female servant, the rest of the servants were all Late Stage Foundation Establishment Espers (Level 3 Espers). Aethelwolf sighed in his heart when he saw that these people were only servants on this continent.

"Sir Aethelwolf, did we get everything you requested?" The beautiful female servant asked.

Aethelwolf smiled at her and nodded his head. "You got everything. Thank you."

"It's an honor, Sir Aethelwolf." She replied.

"You guys can go back now. I will call you if I need anything." Aethelwolf wanted to start making the runes and he couldn't wait to send them off.

The female servant realized this so she bowed and left with her subordinates.

After they left, Aethelwolf once again inspected the quality of the materials. He didn't check them carefully earlier. He had to make sure that there were no problems or it would have negative effects on the resulting product.

"Not bad." He uttered while nodding his head. He was fairly satisfied with the quality of the materials.

"Papa, what are you going to do with all these materials?" A curious Olivia walked up to him and asked.

Aethelwolf patted her head and smiled. "Papa is going to make some runes. Do you want to watch me inscribe the runes?"

Hearing this, Olivia immediately shook her head. She had seen Aethelwolf inscribe runes before and it was very boring. "No!" She flatly refused.

Aethelwolf chuckled when he saw the look on her face. "Then you should go and keep an eye on your little sister, okay?"

Olivia stared at Shane who was sitting innocently on the grass. "Okay." She answered.

"Good. You two can play, but don't go where I can't see you guys." Aethelwolf said seriously.

"Yes, papa!" Olivia nodded.

When Shane heard that they could play, she excitedly stood up and clapped her hands. "Yey!" She then grabbed Olivia's hand and pulled her towards the flower garden behind the guest house.

Aethelwolf smiled when he saw them getting along well. He then turned his gaze towards the materials and sorted them out. The runes he was going to make were defensive runes. Although the Suliman Family's territory was safe, he still wanted to make some preparations. He was afraid that the assassins who attacked the young miss and the young lord of the family would come back to exact vengeance.

Making runes was indeed boring, but this had already become a normal chore to Aethelwolf. In his territory, he had to make a lot of them to keep his people safe. He also taught his subordinates how to make runes.

The most crucial part about making runes is ensuring the quality of world essence injected into every part of the rune. Everything has to be balanced to make a stable network that would make the rune more difficult to decipher.

Aethelwolf spent more than three hours and he managed to create five protective runes. He placed them all over the guest house and he also placed one at the back garden.

When he was done with everything, he searched for his daughters and found them chasing butterflies in the garden. These butterflies are not your ordinary insects. They have the power of a Mid Stage Foundation Establishment Esper which is equivalent to a Level 2 Esper in the Regalis Continent.

Shane and Olivia were giggling as they chased the sparkling butterflies. The two little monkeys even managed to catch a few and they placed them inside a glass jar.

"Papa, look! We caught some butterflies!" Olivia excitedly showed the sparkling creatures they captured. Shane also put on a proud smile.

Aethelwolf smiled gently and rubbed their head. "What are you going to do with these butterflies?" He asked them.

Olivia tilted her head. "I don't know. We haven't thought about it yet." She replied.

Shane grabbed the glass jar from her and said. "We will releash them."

When Olivia heard her words, she hesitated for a moment before nodding her head. She seemed to have recalled the time when she was captured by humans. If it weren't for Aethelwolf, perhaps she would still be in that beast cage. "Yes. We will release them."

"That's also good." Aethelwolf was proud of her daughters.

Shane smiled happily. She then opened the jar and released the sparkling butterflies. "You guysh can come awt naw! Go! Fly!" She raised the glass jar and urged the butterflies to come out.

When the butterflies noticed that the glass jar was open, they flapped their wings and escaped, leaving behind a trail of sparkling light.

Shane and Olivia were amazed by the beauty of the tiny creatures and the eyes of the two little monkeys widened like saucers.

"Wow!"

"Tee-hee!"

Aethelwolf checked the time. It was almost dinner time so he grabbed her daughters' hands and said. "It's almost time to eat. Let's get inside now."

The trio went inside the house hand in hand.

"What did he request from you?" The head of the Suliman Family asked in a low voice. In front of him was the female servant who had spoken with Aethelwolf recently.

The female servant lowered her head and said. "Sir Aethelwolf asked for some raw materials. Based on the nature of those materials, it seems like he is planning to make some runes."

The family head of the Suliman Family furrowed his eyebrows upon hearing this. "So he knows how to make runes?" He uttered with his fingers interlocked on top of his desk.

The female servant didn't say anything when she noticed that he was deep in his thoughts. She just stood there without moving.

The family head stared at the female servant and said. "Just keep an eye on them and report their movements to me."

"Yes, sir!" The female servant nodded in understanding.

"You can go now." He waved his hand.

The female servant bowed and left the office.
