Chapter 1744

Ellinor walked in, and her eyes fell on the child, who was being fawned over by his parents.

She had seen the boy before when she picked up Baber from school. He was the same age as Baber, yet taller and

sturdier. He didn’t seem like the type to pick a fight.

But there he was, clearly injured.

After assessing the child, Ellinor looked up at his parents. “I’m sorry, I just got here, and I’m not quite sure what

happened. I need to talk to my son first. If you could just give me a moment.”

With that, she turned and headed towards Baber, who was standing alone in a corner.

The parents of the injured child were far from pleased with this. Their brows furrowed as they turned to the

director.

“Just look at her attitude!” The father exclaimed, “Our child is injured, and she can’t even get her son to apologize?

She needs to ‘talk’ to him first?! What’s there to talk about? Her son isn’t the one who’s hurt!”

The mother chimed in. “Exactly! Your school is supposed to interview the parents before enrolling their children,

right? How are parents like her accepted? Your school seems no better than the regular kindergartens out there!”

The director, once again, tried to pacify them, asking them to wait.

Ellinor didn’t pay attention to their complaints. Instead, she walked up to Baber and gently crouched down in front

of him.

“Did you hit him, Baber?” She asked.

Baber hung his head and gave her a small nod, but remained silent, not daring to meet her gaze.

“Why did you hit him?” She asked again.

Still, Baber stayed silent as his head sank even lower.

Ellinor refused to believe her son would bully a classmate for no reason. She pulled Baber close and softly

encouraged him. “You need to tell me why you did it, so I can support you. Baber, I know you wouldn’t hit someone

without a good reason. Don’t be scared; tell me what happened.”

Baber lifted his head. His eyes were red as he looked at Ellinor. He opened his mouth, hesitating to speak, then,

after a vigorous shake of his head, suddenly pushed Ellinor away and ran off.

Because Ellinor was crouching, she lost her balance and fell backwards, landing harshly on the ground.

She frowned and looked at her son’s retreating figure, feeling both worried and confused.

What on earth was going on?

The parents of the injured child had witnessed the whole scene and seized the opportunity to reinforce their point.

“Director, you saw that, right? That child is violent! He even pushed his own mother! Keeping a child like him in your

school is like having a ticking time bomb. If you don’t expel him, we’ll inform other parents and collectively

withdraw our children from your school!”
