Xavier didn't ask any further questions after he heard Yvette's answer.

After brushing off the conversation, Yvette went back to her room.

The day after tomorrow would be the New Year's holiday, and both Xavier and Zachary would have toff- Xavier from work and Zachary from school.

Yvette led Xavier to a small room before mentioning, "I need to talk to you about something." Unbeknownst to them, Zachary was eavesdropping outside the door.

Seeing that Xavier remained silent, Yvette tried another approach. "If you have any concerns, I can agree to give you 1.2 million dollars a month as alimony. How about that?" Xavier's expression changed abruptly.

Alimony? 1.2 million dollars? What did she take him for? However, an idea hit him at the mention of money. "Yvvy, if a divorce will make you happy, I can agree to it." Yvette was surprised at his willingness to understand her feelings. "In that case, shall we go to court to finalize the divorce after New Year's?" The documents appeared legitimate. Since Shannon had heard of Xavier's aversion to having his identity used, she'd started arranging for Jeremiah to transfer Xavier's assets, aiming to hand over the company to Jeremiah as quickly as possible.

Xavier had been unaware of it at the time; he'd only received the transfer contracts afterward. Shannon had also begged him not to expose the matter. Yvette examined the agreements, finding them convincing.
